What should we know about folic acid?
Folic acid is an important water-soluble vitamin that plays essential roles in DNA synthesis and cell division. It supports cardiovascular health and participates in the formation of red blood cells in the bone marrow. Folic acid deficiency may lead to a condition known as megaloblastic anemia, in which red blood cells do not form normally and remain immature, resulting in fatigue, weakness and pallor. It also helps lower blood homocysteine levels, which, when elevated, are associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
Folic acid is especially important during pregnancy because it supports the proper development of the fetal neural tube and helps reduce the risk of congenital defects of the nervous system.
Folacid 600 is a food supplement, 90 tablets. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Store in a dry and ventilated place at a temperature below 25°C. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use as a substitute for a varied diet. Do not use after the date indicated on the packaging.
